Take a break from your research to engage with the science community at Cal!

The SPLiCE Symposium is an event for STEM graduate students and postdocs to network and get advice on leading or joining a peer-led STEM group. The event consists of three virtual panels, where current and past group leaders will provide their insights and advice on topics that peer-led groups often struggle with, followed by an in-person networking reception for students and group leaders to continue the conversation. Symposium attendees will have an opportunity to win prizes on the day of the event.

The panels will provide insights on how to recruit and maintain group members, how to foster an inclusive environment for members, and how to create effective succession planning to maintain group leadership and continuity. They will also provide an opportunity to learn from group leadership alumni about how their experience in group leadership impacted their career choices and options. All graduate students and postdocs are welcome to attend the Symposium, including current STEM group leaders, group members, and those thinking about joining or starting a STEM group.
