Bio: Kara Norman Lino, PhD, is currently Director of R&D, Diagnostic Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Kara has more than 20 years of experience in therapeutic and clinical diagnostics R&D, and a life-long passion for improving patient care through research, innovative diagnostics, and cross-disciplinary teamwork. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, she worked for Life Technologies/AcroMetrix, and was a staff scientist at Stanford University School of Medicine. Kara received her PhD in Molecular Virology from University of Calgary, and did a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University, with a focus on RNA biology, gene regulatory networks and anti-viral therapeutics.
