Demystifying the Job Talk and Chalk Talk

Scientists seeking faculty positions will be asked to deliver a “job talk” and a “chalk talk.” Learn the difference between these two components of the hiring process – what each demonstrates to the search committee, and ways you can prepare to discuss your science that will make a strongly positive impression. This event is hosted by the QB3-Berkeley Graduate and Postdoc Career Development office and will address talking about your research in campus interviews. Panelists are UC Berkeley professors and include:

  • Gloria Brar, PhD, Associate Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology, UC Berkeley
  • Greg Alushin, PhD, Assistant Professor, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Biology, And Structural Biology, The Rockefeller University
  • Sarah Stanley, PhD, Associate Professor, Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology, UC Berkeley
