The Functional Genomics Laboratory (FGL) enables researchers to conduct state-of-the-art research in functional genomics, with a focus on using Next Generation sequencing technologies.
Complementing the high-throughput DNA sequencing capabilities of the Vincent J. Coates Genomic Sequencing Laboratory, the FGL specializes in sample quality controls using Bioanalyzer/ Fragment analyzer, the construction of NGS sequencing libraries from live cells, DNA or RNA, and provides full core lab services for Affymetrix GeneChip arrays. FGL scientists are actively involved in the development of new techniques for NGS and microarray-based experimentation and statistical approaches for analyzing complex datasets.
Research support services include hands-on training and consultation from the unit’s director and highly trained staff. We are specialized in troubleshooting on difficult/rare samples.
The FGL is a core facility of the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) and is open to both university and industrial users. Please contact the staff director if you have any question.
