Being able to purify and experiment with proteins is essential for understanding their unique properties and roles in biological systems. Here, we will induce expression of the His6-GFP protein in E. coli, isolate and purify this protein, determine the quantity and quality of our purified protein, and finally, use the purified GFP protein in a functional assay.
